These two restaurants by chef Tony Gulisiano deliver great dining value. The soups are hearty, the pizzas not-overloaded with ingredients come in several flavor-combos: with four cheeses, pepperoni, lamb sausage and tomato and herbs, to name a few. The pastas are reasonably priced and feature angel hair pasta with tomato, garlic and basil; ziti pasta with eggplant and tomato; and linguini with clams. Be sure to check out the daily sandwich specials: on Friday try the meatball with melted mozzarella on a crusty roll or Thursday's smoked turkey is enlivened with pesto, jack cheese, avocado and tomato. One day, a generous portion of fork tender braised short ribs came with a lovely reduced sauce and mashed potatoes for $7.95. Because prices are low, don't expect a basket of bread, instead a slice is perched on your entree. Desserts are not expensive but they're also not very good.
